Gaia Herbs

Gaia Herbs operates one of the most ambitious herb farms in the United States — 270 acres of Regenerative Organic Certified land in Brevard, North Carolina, where they grow more than 5 million plants and 45 distinct herb varieties each year. The plants we don't grow ourselves come from named-farm partners under documented chain-of-custody agreements.

Founded in 1987 by clinical herbalist Ric Scalzo, Gaia is one of the few supplement brands where the founder is a practicing herbalist rather than a businessperson. The result is a product line with deep traditional-use credibility — formulations that actually reflect how herbs are used in clinical practice, with dose levels supported by the herbal pharmacopoeia.

Gaia's MeetYourHerbs platform — launched in 2008 — was the first commercial herb traceability program. Every Gaia product carries an ID number; punch it into their website and you can see which lots of which farms produced the plants in your bottle. Nobody else does this. It's the gold standard for sourcing transparency in herbal supplements.
