We started with one bottle of soursop bitters on a kitchen counter.
Four years later, Herbal Connections ships to more than thirty states — same recipes, same small batches, same fourteen-day cold-brew. This is how we got here.
The herbs we couldn't find anywhere else.
Our founder grew up in a household where bitter herbs were not a wellness trend — they were what you took before breakfast. Soursop leaf for the gut. Black seed for the lungs. Moringa when something felt off. When she went looking for those same formulas on American shelves, she found capsules with two ingredients and tinctures cut with sugar. Nothing close to what her grandmother poured.
So we started cold-brewing them ourselves. One five-gallon stainless vat, two formulas, and a list of named-farm partners we still buy from today. The first bottle of Soursop Bitters left our kitchen in 2021. The 600th five-star review came in two years later.
Sourcing
Named-farm partners. No anonymous powders.
We source organic soursop leaf from a single cooperative in Jamaica, black seed (Nigella sativa) from a family operation in Egypt, shilajit resin from the Indian Himalayas, and sea moss from St. Lucia. We pay above market, ship in small lots, and turn down anything that doesn't show clean COAs.
Our Process
Fourteen days. No heat.
Every bottle is cold-brewed for fourteen days. Heat is fast — it also destroys the volatile oils that make herbal bitters work. We extract in stainless vats at room temperature, press through three stages of filtration, and bottle into amber glass. Each batch is third-party tested for heavy metals, microbials, and potency before it ships.

- No added sugar — ever.
- No artificial preservatives.
- No plastic — only amber glass.
- No proprietary blends — every herb on the label.
- No alcohol-based tinctures.
- No anonymous bulk powders.
